Other viewers say that it's more than a toy, and that's somewhat true. You should buy this instrument, with the intent of having your child learn how to play the guitar. For a $45.00 guitar, we know that Dean isn't gonna put a lot of time, and detail into this instrument, with that being said, my only complaint is that the action is a little high for a beginner. Maybe the extremely light strings will makeup for that. On the other hand the strings will break rather easily, so make sure your child doesn't over turn the tuning pegs, or the strings will break.
