I got this for my 13 yr. old son he was 12 when I purchassed it. This is awsome for a beginner. Once he got into it more he needed to move on to nicer guitars. He still uses the amp this came with on his new guitar. The only thing negitive about this was the book it came with. It did not help him at all. He is self taught so maby that is why but it never helped him. This is the ONLY bad thing I can say about it!
