My guitar came in great condition and arrived promptly, unlike the unfortunate others in reviews previous. There is a pick guard, which was in the picture when I bought it. It does not have a glossy finish, but I like that because it is less prone to fingerprints, however the back of the neck was squeaky against my hand when I first played, but that stopped after some use.
The only negative is the strings that came with it. They weren't corroded, but they were low quality, heavy strings. I changed them for a better set.
I've had a Takamine for a couple years now, which I paid about $450 for (in a store). I may not be an expert, but I don't see any difference in the tone quality in this Jasmine compared to my Takamine.
