Takamine G Series EG440SC NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Gloss Natural Buy Now

I teach guitar and ordered one of these for one of my students. I had a hard time parting with it. Great size, nice cutaway, good electronics, and a tuner. What more can you ask for except it's made by Takamine with it's exceptional quality and sound. It's difficult to find these because they sell out too quickly and the price has been going up. I just can't find the deal I first got for $379 with hard shell case and free ship. My student just loves this guitar and won't part with it. You can't usually go wrong with a Takamine.Get more detail about Takamine G Series EG440SC NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Gloss Natural.

Daisy Rock Debutante Butterfly Short Scale Fantasy Electric Guitar Pack Order Now

This guitar is a decent starter guitar for a girl who wants a guitar that looks pretty and plays suffiently well. The body shape is a little awkward playing around. There are no cut outs around the upper part of the neck so that makes playing the higher frets challenging. Otherwise the neck is fairly player friendly. The starter package deal was worth it for the gig bag and other accessories, the amp is pretty weak sounding but will do for now.Get more detail about Daisy Rock Debutante Butterfly Short Scale Fantasy Electric Guitar Pack.

Epiphone Les Paul Ultra-II Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Midnight Ebony Decide Now

I love the sound of a Les Paul, but I refused to buy one because having been a Strat player for years, I just felt that LP's were uncomfortable to play. This Les Paul addresses the two major factors in why a traditional LP is uncomfortable:

#1, Weight. Ever pick up a real LP? They weight a ton and by the end of a show, your shoulder and lower back are killing you. This thing is super light! The acoustic chambers make it essentially a hollow-body. I'm not sure what the actual weight is, but it's significantly lighter than a solid body LP, but sounds the same (actually better with the piezo).

#2, Body Contours. I don't have a huge belly, but the sharp corners on regular LP's cut into my gut and just aren't comfortable. This guy has a nice body contour in it, so it's really quite comfortable.

The neck has some kind of radical "satin" finish on it that is LIGHTNING fast to play on. It's almost like a rough finish, but it's great because your hand doesn't stick to it like it would to a traditional painted finish. You just have to try it.

This thing has that LP growl that all guitar players associate with a LP. The humbuckers are phenomenal!! In my band, we play classic rock covers with a few heavier tunes thrown in. I figured this guitar would fit right in with some of the more "mild" songs, and songs that were recorded on a LP. "Hold On Loosely", "Deuce", "Life In The Fast Lane", and a couple of Journey tunes... stuff like that. This guitar certainly covers those styles perfectly. But wait... The first time I took this to practice, we started playing "Man In The Box" with a heavy overdrive, and when I hit an artificial harmonic in "G" on the low "E" string... O-M-G!!! The rest of the band members jaws all dropped and they commented that this guitar screamed like a Zakk Wylde. It's VERY responsive!! Then I dialed it back, and tried out the piezo acoustic pickup for our rendition of "Comfortably Numb". I know, shudder at the thought of playing a LP for a Pink Floyd song... The piezo acoustic sound was absolutely incredible, but then when I turned the piezo down and the humbuckers back on for the solo's, it filled the bill again!
This guitar will get you pretty much ANY tone you want (except for the buzz of a single coil). All I can say is, try it!!

There are only 2 things I don't like about this guitar, hence the 4-stars. While the body is light, the headstock isn't, and it tends to pull on the shoulder. It's just not very well balanced, so it takes some getting used to. Also, it's still tough to get to the higher frets just like any LP.

Otherwise, you get the killer LP sound with the added bonus of an acoustic, and the unexpected bonus of COMFORT! This guitar is well worth the price and I'd say it's essential to any collection. You can cover so much ground with it!

Schecter Synyster Gates Custom Electric Guitar (Black Gloss, Pimp Stripe) Right now

This guitar is absolutely amazing. It looks great, the silver stripes are just awesome. The floyd rose tremolo works very well, along with the locking nuts, which cause the guitar to never go out of tune. It has a great metal sound, you can have the amp on clean and still hear a little bit of distortion from the seymour duncan's, which can be split to achieve a nicer clean. Overall great guitar, i would recommend it, the only thing i don't like is that the floyd rose makes it hard to change the tuning.Get more detail about Schecter Synyster Gates Custom Electric Guitar (Black Gloss, Pimp Stripe).

Lowest Price Epiphone Tony Iommi G-400 SG Collection Electric Guitar, Ebony

For Years I have played Sabbath covers with my metal band. For a time I even played with a Gibson SG 1961 reissue. But it was too far from the ones Iommi uses, which are extensively customized. So I went back to more "metal" guitars, like my Ibanez RG Prestige. I was obviously very interested when Guibson decided to make Tony Iommi signature models.
But I was also desappointed, because one main thing was missing : Tony Iommi, almost from the start of Black Sabbath, removed the original bridge to put a Badass-style one. Iommi always play with this kind of bridges, and I'm sure it is part of the metal that you get from these guitars. This is one of the main modification that a Tony Iommi SG (Gibson or Epiphone) should have, but you won't find it on these signature models. Nevertheless it seems to be a very good guitar.Get more detail about Epiphone Tony Iommi G-400 SG Collection Electric Guitar, Ebony.

Low Price Dean Classical Solid-Top Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Left Handed Guitar

I really liked this instruemnt. The woodwork and binding is equal in quality to units that cost much more. The only adjustment I had to make was the bridge to lower the action a little. The sound quality is very good and the built in tuner is great as well. Great value and the fact that it is left handed makes it worth more to me.Get more detail about Dean Classical Solid-Top Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Left Handed Guitar.

Save Yamaha F-310 Steel String Acoustic Folk Guitar, Semi Jumbo

The Yamaha F-310 Acoustic Guitar was my very first guitar, and I grew to love it. I played it for 6 years, and it never failed. Since then I have upgraded to a Gibson Songwriter Cutaway (which plays like a dream), and I gave away my trustworthy Yamaha to a lucky person. I sometimes wish I still had my old F-310. I beat it up pretty bad, but the tone and playability never diminished. Don't let the price fool you...this yamaha is everything you could want in a beginner/intermediate guitar. With the right set of fresh strings, this guitar sounds comparable to higher-end guitars in the upper hundreds. Buy this Yamaha, and it'll be one purchase you don't regret.Get more detail about Yamaha F-310 Steel String Acoustic Folk Guitar, Semi Jumbo.

Buying Luna Oracle Eclipse Acoustic/Electric Guitar

Luna Oracle Eclipse Acoustic/Electric Guitar is an awesome guitar for the money spent.
I have had many guitars in my lifetime and this one ranks right up their with some of the best.
The set up and action is excellent, Just a little weak on the bottom end, Fit and finish is excellent.
Fishman Pre-amp is Just OK, med level but works fine.
But if you want a great playing guitar that you don't have to baby around a large Jam Session.
It's Great, and it will keep up with most med level Taylors or Martins in a group setting.
Because this is an all solid wood instrument it can only get better with age.

Buy SX Callisto CS Electric Guitar

I was very surprised with not only the quality of this guitar but it sounds great, too. Initially, I just wanted to find a "practice" guitar to go along with my collection, so I chose this. It has a great Les Paul Gibson look, but don't be fooled by the price. It sounds easily as good as some of the $300 guitars I've played and bought. I would reccomend this guitar for beginners or experienced players. It comes in two different colors, and I chose the lighter color. Definitely worth playing, and it was shipped directly from the SX factory and came in very safe packacking. I've heard horror stories of people ordering cheaper guitars coming broken, etc. This was definitely not even close to that. I did not even need to make any adjustments to the neck. I've was very surprised with this guitar.Get more detail about SX Callisto CS Electric Guitar.

Purchase Godin Exit 22 Solid Body Electric Guitar (Natural Mahogany RN)

I bought my Godin Exit 22 as my "return" instrument after taking up guitar again after a twenty-something year break. Here's what I can tell you: This is a great guitar, made even better by a very reasonable price. As it came off the rack, action was set a bit high and intonation was a little off, but after having it set up by my local tech, all is well. Been playing it for hours every day for almost two years now - mostly blues and rock & roll - and feel like I am finally growing into it. 24 3/4 scale makes for easy, slinky bends - so more of a Gibson touch to this guitar.

Sound is wonderful through my Roland modeling amp, with solid, clear, clean tones from the single coil bridge and middle pups and as much nasty growl as one wants through the bridge humbucker. (I tend to play with the bass on the low end, but there is plenty of bottom-end available if that lights you up.)

Easy and comfortable reach of the upper frets is enhanced by some thoughtful sculpting around the neck pocket. You run into some smooth curves rather than a vertical wall a la Fender.

I could go on and on. Most important is that this is a solid guitar at a very, very reasonable price with plenty of room to grow. Oh, and the satin maple neck has gotten faster, while the mahogany body has gotten prettier with age and playing, so an added plus...Get more detail about Godin Exit 22 Solid Body Electric Guitar (Natural Mahogany RN).

Order Daisy Rock Debutante Heartbreaker Short Scale Princess Purple Electric Guitar

I bought this for my 4.5 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it. It's 1/2 size scale is just perfect for her. It's a real electric guitar with a single humbucker and volume knob. Comes D'Addario installed strings and just needed to be tuned upon arrival. It also comes with a very cute custom Daisy Rock light purple/lavender guitar gig bag with a front zipper pocket for accessories. The only thing it didn't come with was a cable, so be prepared to order one. The color is gorgeous (shimmery purple) and the quality is outstanding for the price. I can't believe Amazon is able to sell it so cheaply, and seriously people, if you're considering buying one, you should get it while the price is low. I couldn't find one for under $120 anywhere else. It's not a $249 dollar guitar by any means and if I had paid the retail price for it, I would've been irritated, however, for this price, it's well worth the money. And it's a Daisy Rock, so you really can't go wrong.Get more detail about Daisy Rock Debutante Heartbreaker Short Scale Princess Purple Electric Guitar.

Lauren Acoustic Steel String Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar - Vintage Sunburst Top Quality

I bought this guitar about 4 months ago from a local store. Being a beginner I wanted a good guitar that was not too expensive and this guitar really caught my attention. I liked the sunburst design and it has a nice rich tone. The strings that came with the guitar were a little stiff so I replaced them with light strings. I am very happy with this guitar.Get more detail about Lauren Acoustic Steel String Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar - Vintage Sunburst.

Godin 5th Avenue Archtop Jazz-Style Acoustic Guitar (Natural) This instant

While I was at my local music store looking for a new accoustic guitar, I was introduced to this amazing guitar. This was the first time that I had ever played an arch top and I fell in love, and what amazed me is it plays and feals better than an expensive accoustic. The old arch tops were big and bulky, very expensive
and had very little low to mid range sound that accoustic players have come to love.
While researching this guitar I found that this very guitar was a labor of love for Mr.Godin. He wanted to re-invent the arch top and did he ever!
This guitar has a big accoustic guitar sound. Has an incredible low,mid and high tones, it is thinner than most arch tops and has a great price. This has the true vintage spirit but with all of the modern tone and playability that a guitar player loves.
This baby comes with a single coil P-90 pick up,
Canadian wild cherry back and sides,
silver leaf maple neck,
adjustable floating bridge,
custom french "style" polish on the body,
1+ tone-1+ volume finished of by those classic top hat knobs,
16"FINGER BOARD RADIUS
24.84" scale
1.72" nut width
and an awsome, feather light molded guitar case.
If you love accoustic guitars you should take a trip to you're local music store and take this beauty for a test ride I promise you wont be let down. And if you love to play a traditional arch top I think you will be very suprised at what The Godin guitar co. has accomplished.

Taylor Guitars 614ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic Electric Guitar Immediately

What can you say about a guitar that's so flawless, it begs to be taken out of the case and played every time you walk past it? Maybe this: thanks to the mind-blowingly gorgeous big-leaf maple back and sides, plus the sitka spruce top, the tones it produces will send shivers down your spine. Or this: Taylor's legendary NT neck is the easiest playing neck you'll find on a guitar. It's also the most maintenance-free. Or this: the Expressions System electronics are the simplest to use and most faithfully accurate you'll find on a guitar these days. Or this: the incredible abalone fretboard inlays and rosette around the soundhole will likely have you thinking you bought a much more expensive guitar.

I stopped playing the guitar for 35 years. When I wanted to get back into it, I went on [...] and spent some time in their forum reading posts from owners of various guitar brands. Sure, there were plenty of Gibson and Martin fans. But their numbers were dwarfed by zealots of a brand I'd never heard of: Taylor. And these people were absolutely rhapsodic about the virtues of their guitars. So I went to my local guitar emporium and tested out a number of Taylors. First, I had to decide which size guitar I wanted, since sizes and shapes had changed in the 35 years since I stopped playing. I tested the Grand Concert size (too small) and the Drednaught size (too big), and decided the Grand Auditorium size was perfect for me. Next, I went looking for a specific sound, and the Taylor 614ce, with it's shimmering highs and bell-like lows felt perfect. Finally, the aesthetics: for what I paid, the 614 was simply the most beautiful guitar in my price range. And it came with a case that appears to have been built to withstand a rocket-propelled grenade.

I love this guitar, and as much as I've tried in this review, I can't do it justice. Play one for yourself. You'll see what I mean.Get more detail about Taylor Guitars 614ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic Electric Guitar.

Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar, Ebony Buy Now

Man, I can't believe there were no prior reviews. What can one say about this guitar, other than perfection? Mine was $899.00 new back in 1979. Strats are fabulous guitars as well, but there's something about the heft and solidity of a Les Paul. A thing of beauty and a real investment. I really like the thin neck profile on the Customs, compared to the Standards, and like the sounds that are possible with the ebony fretboard. Sustain for days...

It doesn't get a whole lot better.Get more detail about Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar, Ebony.

Daisy Rock Debutante Rock Candy Petite Short Scale Atomic Pink Electric Guitar Order Now

I received this guitar in the mail for my daughter. Liked the color and the design. The body, neck, and tuner/head seem to be well constructed. The guitar as delivered was not playable. That is, it could not be tuned. I had to take it to the repair shop and have an additional $50 setup and new strings ($12). They had to adjust the neck, tighten the tuners, clean up the frets and reset the intonation (sp?). The intonation was the main reason the guitar could not be tuned. The strings need to be adjusted properly. They also had to work on the nut at the end of the guitar to get the action better. The action as delivered was pretty good, but after tweaking all the other features I am assuming the nut had to be adjusted. The guitar plays better, but still needs some adjustment but that will be taken care of I assume for free if I take it back to the shop. One of the strings kinda rattles a little probably due to the action being set too low, to allow for easier beginner playing. Also the electrical pickup was adjusted too high for my amp so we have to turn everything way down so it wont play too loudly.Get more detail about Daisy Rock Debutante Rock Candy Petite Short Scale Atomic Pink Electric Guitar.

Luna Fauna Acoustic Guitar, Dragonfly Decide Now

This guitar is not only gorgeous to look at, it also plays and sounds as good as it looks. I have had many compliments on both the looks and the sound. It is also very light in weight, so easy on the shoulders and back. After playing for 30-plus years, the weight of my guitar was taking its toll. I read about this brand, designed by a woman-for women-and that is why I decided to try a Luna. The built-in tuner is amazing and easy to use. There is even an automatic bypass on it for tuning during live performances. The EQ/preamp are equally good. Upon arrival, the action seemed a bit high, so I brought it to my local music store to have it adjusted. Apparently, the manufacturer realizes that every player is different and leaves that part up to the buyer.Have it done by a professional-it only takes a few minutes and shouldn't cost very much. All in all, this is a GREAT guitar for short money. I highly recommend it for any player!!Get more detail about Luna Fauna Acoustic Guitar, Dragonfly.

Diamante DIAM-CL Full Size Classical Guitar with Deluxe Gig Bag Right now

Just picked one up at a pawn shop for $65 bucks. Guess I got ripped off a little. Oh well, saved shipping and tax. I bought it as a drag-along banger to take to the beach, but it sounds great! Almost as good as my high-end Spanish guitar. Looks a little cheap with the wide grain face and painted sides and back and a plastic bridge, but it's a really nice sounding guitar for a cheapo.Get more detail about Diamante DIAM-CL Full Size Classical Guitar with Deluxe Gig Bag.

Lowest Price Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar, Alpine White

I bought mine over 2 weeks ago at Guitar center and was struck by the Alpine White color, which I found out was a Custon Shop limited edition. When I got it home, I noticed that it wouldn't stay in tune and that was due to the fact that it wasn't set up properly upon the leaving the factory in China, contrary to what the inspection label on the back of the headstock says. The intonation, along with the string and pickup height, were in need of adjustment and once I took care of those problems, I was amazed at how well this guitar sounded and how great it stayed in tune. The rest of the guitar from the frets to the electronics, seems to be very well built, but I would've preferred block inlays instead of the dot ones on the neck. Other than that, there was nothing that I could find wrong with this guitar at all. This is a very reasonably priced instrument for the beginner and advanced musician as far as I'm concerned, and I'm speaking from over 36 years of playing. This is a welcome alternative for those of us who can't afford the outrageous prices for the US made Gibsons, and seeing that Epiphone is owned by them, you really more or less have the same thing, just made in a different country, that's all! Great guitar for a great price!Get more detail about Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar, Alpine White.

Low Price Alvarez AJ60S Acoustic Guitar, Natural

This guitar sounds better overall than I had expected for paying $300 online. The 5th and 6th strings send a booming sound that will easily fill a small room. Your chords will sound beefier than most other acoustics you play around, except for perhaps Martins or other big body brands. This guitar is also very light, and the maple wood on the sides and back is very pretty. I look forward to taking my playing to the advanced intermediate level over the next few years, from where I am now, a novice, tossing off some Hank Williams songs and just now learning to play scales and solos, and basic fingerpicking patterns.

Why not five stars? It's not as big as I anticipated. A Martin dreadnought is definitely bigger, or wider, I think. Also, the first four strings do not project so exceptionally well as the last two, but sound pretty enough.Get more detail about Alvarez AJ60S Acoustic Guitar, Natural.

Discount Dean Play EVO Guitar, Metalic Silver

First off: The official title for this guitar is; "Dean EVO Playmate P". There is also a "J" version so mind your Ps&Js. The only major difference I can see is that the P type has a Gibson style stop tailpiece and tuneomatic bridge. The J has a Fender style combination tailpiece and bridge. With the P you have a choice, black or silver finish. I chose silver.
For the cheaper price, you get just the guitar and NOT the package deal as shown in the photo. I already have an amp and all the trimmins'. I bought mine from Guitar Audio via ebay for $130 and it seemed the best deal at the time. They offered free shipping. Do some shopping around. I've seen the Playmate J selling for $100

Me: I've been messing around with guitars for over forty years. I've had my share of axes. I'm a woman (I'm a Gibson SG girl who, more or less, aims to sound like Billy Gibbons) and I have smaller hands so regular scale guitars like Gibson and Fender can be a bit of a stretch for me. I've wanted a decent short scale guitar for a while but there really isn't much out there that's reasonably affordable or set up as I've come to prefer. Both Dean and Fender have "mini-Strats", too, but I'm used to the Gibson stoptail and bridge layout and 3+3 tuner arrangement.

Guitar: Dean has been in business for over thirty years and they have have a reputation for quality while aiming at the metal shredder market. I'm no shredder so I wasn't particularly looking for a Dean product. I sort of stumbled across this and decided to give it a shot 'cause it looked cool and not so radical. I figured that if it turns out to be a dog, I'm not out too much. Well, Guitar Audio is a good dealer and I got my puppy within a week. I've been playing with it for nearly a month and I'm real pleased with my puppy. BTW, the guitar is made in China for Dean.

The body is basswood. Basic budget guitar wood. Nicely finished. I'm assuming the finish is urethane and it's sprayed on smooth and polished out well. The routings look clean and the control cavity looks like it's been painted with shielding paint. The cavity cover has a strip of metal foil underneath to add to the shielding. Nice detail touch for a budget ax.

The neck is two piece maple with a rosewood fingerboard. The neck glue joint looks solid. The neck is finished in a satiny clear and feels very silky. The neck profile is slim and fits my hand comfortably. After about a month, the neck hasn't done anything cheap like bend or twist. The truss rod is adjustable and comes with the proper size allen wrench The frets look average size and properly dressed. I don't feel any sharp edges.

The tuners look like they're Gotohs and should hold up with normal use. I tightened the buttons down just a little and there's a nice sense of precision when I tune up. FYI, Gotoh uses the same size of mounting hole as Grover or Schaller should you ever want to change. The pickups are said to be made by Dean. How could you tell?. Anyway, they sound good to me. They're F-spaced humbuckers so you have alot of options available if you ever want to mix and match. The bridge and stoptail also look like Gotoh and well made. The volume and tone controls seem a little stiff but smooth in action. The knobs are metal with plastic inserts and have a good, solid, feel in the hands. The output jack is side mounted on a metal jack plate. Looks pretty sturdy.

Set-up: Most guitars need a tweak before you play them and this one is no exception. Like many bolt-on necks, this one is set too shallow. The bridge bottoms out and you still have a high action. I have some 30 thou. brass shim stock, trim to fit and glued in at the back of the neck pocket. While I was at it, I got just a dab of moly grease with a cotton swab on the bridge studs and pins. Just enough to keep the bridge adjust mechanism from binding. Neck back in place and I could get the action as I like it without any problems. You can get a pretty low action on this neck before you start to hear fret buzz. This being a short scale neck, you might consider using slightly heavier gauge strings. There's less tension so light gauge strings tend to fret rattle.

Beefs: If I have one, it's a personal taste thing. I don't like where the pickup switch is. As a SG girl, I'm used to having the switch near the bridge. I keep hitting the volume knob instead. Moving things around is a little work and I haven't done anything about it just yet. When I do I'll probably replace the switch, too. The lever arm feels a little wiggly-wobbly to me.

The guitar comes without a case or gigbag. I bought a bag from Gator that they claim is for 3/4 size guitars (39 inches). It's about 2 inches too short for this guitar. I found one on ebay that fits. Look for one that is 41 inches long. (This just in: Road Runner makes a nice semi-hard case for about $55-60. This guitar fits perfect in it.)

Conclusion: OK, this is no Gibson Custom Shop work but I'm really impressed with the quality of this guitar for the price. (I only hope the Chinese workers got paid fairly.) Whether you are a beginner or have played a while and want a short neck I really suggest you give this model a close look. "So how does it play, Phyllis?", they shouted! Ham handed chunka-chunka style as I play, I like how it plays, too! Some chords that required a stretch across the fingerboard seem easier to finger, for example.

Cheap Schecter C-1 FR Electric Guitar (Gloss White)

The Schecter C1-FR is an amazing guitar as well as an amazing deal. I was so excited when it arrived I ripped open the box and played it through a 65 watt Kustom using heavy tones. The guitar has amazing sustain and a great full sound to it and unlike some reviews it does have a great clean tone as far as an active guitar goes. The neck is perfect for shredding as well as sweeping and doing all kinds of insane guitar riffs. The liscensed Floyd Rose is great as well, not many liscensed tremelos are any good, this one given some break in time, works great. However the stock strings should be replaced after opening, my reasoning for this is because barely moving the tremelo on the first day being as careful as I could the bottom E string had slipped out of place secondly, in my opinion, D'Addarios are not good for Floyd Rose (I could be wrong). After replacing the strings with a light gauge set of ghs boomers I was back in buisness. And I might add that if your a metal player such as i, you do yourself good to give time for your tensioning springs in the back break in before you attempt to do Dimebag squeals or hardcore bar dumps (this is with any new guitar). This is my first brand new guitar and suggest to anyone thinking about buying this guitar that you take very good care of it because its worth every d*mn penny you pay for it. Awesome guitar.Get more detail about Schecter C-1 FR Electric Guitar (Gloss White).

Buying Blueridge BR-341 Historic Series O-Style Parlor Guitar

Sounds great. Feels solid. I am more comfortable with the parlor size. I used to own a Gibson J-45 and never fell in love with it. A family member has an old gibson parlor and I've always liked the body size. I am not a small person, but anyone should try a parlor size first. To me, the sound isn't greatly affected, it seems to have more punch. This is the first time I haven't played a guitar before I bought, but I did read a lot of reviews and I am very impressed and pleased with it.Get more detail about Blueridge BR-341 Historic Series O-Style Parlor Guitar.

When it first arrived, I was impressed at its small build, but at the same time I was worried that it wouldn't quite cut it for me (looks like a toy at times). After playing for a couple of hours, I fell in love with my Traveler.

Pros:

1) Good for traveling, obviously, due to its VERY small frame.

2) It may not look pleasing to the eye with an armrest attached. But you could play standing up without the armrest. It's light. It's not suffocating (like some guitars are when played standing up). And it trains you to get used to playing standing up.

3) When the guitar arrived I jumped straight into playing it from the box. It worked great, and I was surprised at how comfortable the guitar felt. Almost like my first love (: It sounds great, has great tone and clarity. Wood quality was good, and sliding was surprisingly easy.

Cons:

1) Pickup. It may not cut it for metalheads. But I paired it with my Roland Microcube and it's good to go for me.

2) The armrest creeks at times. It could feel like a full-build guitar really if the armrest attaches better.

3) Restringing. Enough said.

Some notes:

1) The tuning pegs have really limited space around them. It may be inconvenient to most guys, but I have small fingers, hence tuning was made easy for me (I just use my right hand all the way!)

2) I think this guitar really fits my size. Guitars are always made for males; hence us female guitarists always have to accommodate. It's light, so I don't have to feel like I'm carrying bricks on my shoulder when I play standing up. I don't know how to put my next point appropriately, so I'm just gonna say: for females, it fits.

3) If you're the type that rests your 3rd and/or 4th finger on the guitar while you pick, it may feel strange when you first play the Traveler as there is way less solid space to rest on (due to the tuning pegs' position). You WILL get used to it, though; your body will automatically adjust and make use of whatever space there is.

Why 4 stars, not 5? Because I really want to restring to XL strings, but I get tired when I think of assignments AND look at the back of the guitar (:Get more detail about Traveler Guitar Speedster Electric Travel Guitar (Candy Apple Red Metallic, Gig Bag).

Purchase Kansas K-COLT Mini Deadnaught Travel Guitar, Natural

We bought this as our first guitar, along with a learn to play guitar book. It came with an electronic tuner which we weren't expecting. It is a small guitar but people who know better than I do say it has a nice sound. I think it sounds nice but that's not saying much... It isn't fancy at all. Some of the little pieces are plastic, but it works well, and sounds good. Everyone loves to play it. I would say it is an excellent first guitar for someone who doesn't want to make a big investment, but wants something that works well, looks good, and sounds pretty nice.Get more detail about Kansas K-COLT Mini Deadnaught Travel Guitar, Natural.

Order Luna Flora Lotus Acoustic Guitar, Tranz Plum/Quilted Maple

This is an absolutely beautiful guitar. The photo is great, but it is definitely better in person. Lovely, rich sound. Slightly smaller than a dreadnought - which is great for smaller/shorter women. The Luna Flora Lotus has an attached digital tuner which is pretty handy. It was packed very well and shipped out quickly. I am so happy I bought this guitar. Where To Buy Gibson Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar, Ebony

I lost all of my electric guitars in Katrina and figured I owe this review to offer shopping suggestions to everyone looking to replace thier guitars. I am a former professional musician and really only play now as a hobby. I decided to replace my Gibson SG that was lost in the flood with the "Rolls Royce" of all guitars: the LP Custom. Here is what I think of it:

Of all the items I have reviewed on Amazon, the LP Custom has to be the most difficult for several reasons. First, since it is a handmade guitar, the buyer should know that no two will be exactly the same. On the same day I bought mine, for example, I noticed that the one right next to it on the wall had a sixth string groove that in the nut that was situated too close to the top of the fretboard. I also played several other custom shop models that had similar quirks, including the Jimmy Page Custom (which has a neck like a Kramer and the body of a Les Paul...yes, it's ridiculous).

Second, because my playing style is hard picking mostly, I don't know if everyone would agree with what I have to say about the action on this guitar, but it was the deciding factor in my selection. The all-black/gold Custom I picked had just a bit more resistance to "digging" than the others I tried (then again, I learned to play on a Sears and Roebuck special). Still, all the LP customs have ebony ("fretless") fretboard wire; and when the action is set right the guitar seems to "play your fingers".

Anyway, assuming that you can find one of these LP customs that has off-the-shelf action that fits YOUR playing style, the sound of the heavy cruiser will take you away. This axe has a 3-ply maple top with a mahogany bottom. You can tell its very high quality wood by the way the strings resonate.

Notes "wobble" and "swell" after being plucked even when the guitar is not plugged in. The sheer weight of the bottom guitar seems to make the neck (which is relatively thin on a basic custom)much more vibrant and responsive than it is on a single slab guitar. Since this tonal quality is coupled with a natural resonation in the ebony fretboard, the player can squeeze every ounce of juice out of a single note. Also, this resonance quality works well to enhance spooked notes in arpaggio sweeps. As as result, the LP custom can be suited out as a digitalized metal cruncher or a acoustic jazz box

The sound quality and feel give the basic LP custom some big plusses. You will also notice a change in your playing prowess from the responsive fretboard. However, there are a few small minuses that first-time high-end guitar buyers should be aware of.

First, the basic Custom is the plug-ugliest looking guitar in the world. There are only 4 color selections (Black, White, Narural and Red). The gold humbuckers on the Black Beauty only seem to make it look gaudy to me. But, again this is subjective.

Second, the basic customs come equipped with standard Gibson Alnico Humbuckers. Although these pups blow doors on most humbuckers, the clarity of the 3rd and 4th strings tends to get buried when the guitar is phased and flanged through a tube amp and there is a low note ringing. I'm going to try putting in a burstbucker to solve this.

Another obvious drawback to the guitar is the weight. Playing this guitar standing without staplocks is crazy. It is killing my lower back. If you're going to gig with this axe, drink plenty whiskey and take some cortizone. I suppose this is another price to pay for that solid mahogany sustain and tone!

In retrospect, I love this axe, but wish that I would have looked harder at the Les Paul Custom Class 5. I've heard they are about a thousand more, but I didn't come across one in any stores. Those come in many different colors and are outfitted with burstbuckers off the shelf. Also, they have chambered mahogany bodies that are supposed to make them weight-relieved. Still, I wonder if they could achive the same sustain and tone?

Rule #1 is to always make sure you can return the guitar if you find a defect! For the price of this one, you should have perfection!

Regards
Valjean

Shop For Epiphone LP Standard Plus-Top Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Trans Amber

I've had one of these amber Les Pauls for several years now. Mine has Grover tuners on it, but it's the same axe. It's an excellent value- construction is very good and so is the fit and finish. Looks sharp too. Mine has cream binding and amber skirted knobs, although they are not vintage correct. I would recomend this axe to anyone looking a for a Les Paul style guitar. The crappy stock strings should be replaced right away with some decent ones- I use Ernie Ball Slinkys... I also replaced the stock pickups- they are muddy and un-focused. Inexperinced players may be quite satisfied with them. Warning: If you replace any parts you will void the warranty!!! That's okay. Just take it to a guitar shop and have them set the intonation on the guitar-that's kind of tricky to do yourself. Some good strings and you've got yourself a pretty good LP- better than the cheap ones all over the internet. It's not a Gibson, but it's not $3,ooo.oo either...Get more detail about Epiphone LP Standard Plus-Top Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Trans Amber.
