This is a great guitar for blues. I bought it mainly to solve a logistics problem for my band's recent east coast mini-tour, but it has wildly exceeded my expectations. Here's a video of me playing it on Willie Dixon's "Third Degree":
[..] (Yes, I'm playing it lefty upside down, Albert King style)
I replaced the .009 strings with .010s, which deliver better tone and dynamic range. Also, I raised the neck pickup somewhat, a thirty second operation.
The workmanship and finish are flawless. The mahogany grain is plainly visible through the finish, which is a very pretty medium red, unlike the photo on Amazon.
I got my first guitar in 1956, and have played many great guitars in the intervening years. This Silvertone won't replace my Strat as my workhorse electric guitar, but it will certainly see more use in the future. It is a great sounding guitar.
btw, the Epiphone 335 case fits it just fine.
