First Act 222 Designer Electric Guitar Pack - White (AL222) Buy Now

Ok first off let me start by saying I have been playing about 15 years and have owned many guitars.

I was looking for a cheap guitar for practice and one I could generally knock around and not worry about....boy was I wrong. I love this guitar so much, it is easily one of my favorite guitars and I treat it with love and respect.

The Good:
For a 'Cheap guitar' it is very well made, the feel is not too heavy and the tone is nice and bright with enough user changeable settings to get a varied selection of sounds from it. The neck has a satin 'sanded' finish which makes it super fast to play with no drag (Most Epiphones dont even do this and you have to do it yourself) and the frets are trimmed nicely which is usually the curse of the budget guitar.

I have mine hooked up to a Marshall 30W amp and a Digitech RP90 effect pedal and I can pretty much pull out Guns N Roses note perfect.

The Bad:
Throw both the amp and the strap in the garbage. Not worth a moment of your time but having said that, most of the price of this guitar obviously went on the instrument itself and thats the way I like it.

If you want to learn to play or have even been playing for years, you WILL love this guitar. Get past the 'First Act' stigma and you will be very happy. I will never sell or get rid of this guitar. Love it.

This guitar plays better and feels better than guitars I have paid over $500 for. I am going to buy another one as a spare. (Just in case)

NOTE: there is a version with only one pick up available. You need the dual pickup version for optimal satisfaction.Get more detail about First Act 222 Designer Electric Guitar Pack - White (AL222).

Wechter Model 1710 Elite Travel Guitar Order Now

This is a great adult travel guitar and a nice beginning model for a kid or someone with small hands. Considering its price, it's much better than it should be. It's fun to play and it's been in my hands daily since I bought it three weeks ago. It also comes with a first-rate padded gig bag. I've been looking for something to take on trips and also to just play while sitting in a chair watching TV--my Yamaha acoustic is too bulky to play while relaxing. For the past few months I've tried travel guitars made by Taylor, Martin, Laguna, and Fender. All are nice guitars and if you're looking for one that's really cheap, the Fender Squire MA-1 is not bad.

However, compared to all of them, I found the Wechter to be superior overall in playability--the most important quality for me--sound, and craftsmanship. It's a quality instrument and it stays in tune--I frequently tune down a half-step and sometimes a whole step and I also use open tunings. The neck is small and fairly thin and reminds me of the neck on my Ibanez Af 75 hollowbody electric--this might be a problem if you have big hands. But the neck works great for me because it plays like an electric guitar--the factory-set action is spot on--and it's not so small that a regular sized Acoustic seems strange or difficult when I switch between the two. I took a chance buying this because I had never nor played a Wechter. I was convinced to give it a shot after reading only one review and talking to someone at Wechter. I would have returned it had I not liked it. But, it's a keeper. And what fast delivery from Amazon.

Lowest Price Daisy Rock Pixie Acoustic (Pink Sparkle)

Aesthetically super-cool, but most importantly, the sound is excellent. I've tried out a number of acoustic guitars over the years and am rarely completely won over -- one's too tinny; one's too booming, etc. I was really impressed with a Daisy Rock model's sound a while back, but the look wasn't quite right for me. Then comes the glittery Pixie and, being a child of the '80s, I had to have it!

I tried one in a store to make sure I liked the sound, but wound up buying it through Amazon vendor ZoZo Music (who shipped promptly and is just fab) to get the best price.

As advertised, the smaller neck and lighter weight make it ideal for females. (Not just "girls," but perhaps girls at heart!)

It's fantastic -- get it and rock on!Get more detail about Daisy Rock Pixie Acoustic (Pink Sparkle).

Low Price Disney Hannah Montana 3/4 Sized Acoustic Guitar

After one of my guitar students purchased this guitar, I had to recommend it to my other young students! It is a great size for a beginner and has a wonderful tone quality for the price.
Spend a little money on lowering the nut so that the strings will be closer to the fret board. This will make it easier for little fingers to play the chords more easily. It only cost me $25 to do this at my local guitar store. Wipe the strings down often so that
they don't rust as quickly. You'll be happy with this guitar!Get more detail about Disney Hannah Montana 3/4 Sized Acoustic Guitar.

This was a birthday gift for my husband. He has several guitars and would never think about buying one without playing it first, but I thought it was pretty, so I ordered it. Discount Epiphone LP Standard Plus-Top Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Heritage Cherryburst

This a good guitar. It is a shame it looks like and is called a Les Paul, which will immediatly force oyu to draw comparisons with the "real thing". For a £350 guitar, this is very good. They play nicely, look good, and probalby won't let you down. You won't be dissapointed if you got one of these. I've taken the time to undertake an extensive comparison of the Gibson and Epiphone Les Paul. You can see this at my website dub dub dub dot masht dot com. I hope this helps. To summarise, there IS a big difference in the tone, there IS a big different in teh aesthetics, and there IS a big difference in the build quality and the auality of the components. Cheapest Rogue Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Natural

This is a beginner's guitar that sounds great. While build quality isn't perfect, this guitar offers great bang for your buck.

The wood and finish look good. The natural finish is pretty attractive and complements my room pretty well.

Pros:
Sound- This guitar does not sound cheap. It resonates and creates big, defined sound. Make sure you replace the stock strings to get better sound.

Acoustic-Electric PreAmp- This is an acoustic-electric guitar, meaning it comes with a built in pickup and preamp, so that you can plug it in to an amp and play. The guitar comes with a Fischer preamp that does a rather good job. It contains low, mid, and high controls, as well as "brilliance."

Tuners- The tuning machines feel solid and well constructed.

Reliability- I've had mine for over a year now and it has held up. Nothing has come loose or fallen off, which happens more than it should with budget-oriented guitars.

Cons:
Consistency- There are complaints of inconsistent build quality. Some units come better than others. Mine came with a bridge that was a bit too big so I had to sand down the bottom a bit to make the strings easier to press down by lowering the action a bit.

Overall, this is a great guitar. Get it if you are a beginner looking for a guitar that wont be too expensive, this is a great choice.Get more detail about Rogue Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Natural.

Cheap Saga LC-10 LP Style Electric Guitar Kit

I bought this guitar as a teaching aide for my grandson he had a guitar that needed a ton of work but was afraid to work on it, with this kit he learned how to finish a guitar and how the guitar works how to set it up. I was surprised with the quality of the entire package the electronics the pick up although not the P 90 for the less paul they were way better then what I expected. The guitar when taking your time putting it together you end up with a nice working guitar and a good education on how to build one. The only down side was the fretting very large and only a inch and a half nut. all in all it turns out to be a quality instrument worth what you paid for it and a lot of fun. Buying Voyage-Air Guitar Songwriter Series Full Size Folding Guitar (Solid Spruce Top, Orchestra Model)

After doing a great deal of research and actually seeing Debra Cowan and her Voyage Air, I purchased the Voyage Air VAOM 06. I was shocked at how loud it was. I'm very pleased with my purchase of this Lucida LK-2-3/4 student guitar. For its intended purpose it's a screaming great deal. I wanted a travel/beach guitar that sounded good and wouldn't bring tears to my eyes when it took a hit and this one fills the bill! It's really pretty out of the box and it sounds pretty good too, the action is very comfortable, e-z to play and best of all it was less than $50 and that included free shipping! Where To Buy Takamine G Series G340 Acoustic Guitar

I am just learning guitar but, so experienced friends suggested the G340. Six months later i can play a few tunes and thought I was ready to get a more expensive guitar. I could not find one under $1000.00 that sounded better. I looked for about 2 weeks and for my ear it's not out there. For 300.00 or less this is hard to beat in sound and the quality of the material.
This made me appreciate my guitar and it's a keeper. Even friends who play well are amazed at how this guitar sound and all agree it's a great deal. I keep it tuned and it sounds as good as my ears can hear.Get more detail about Takamine G Series G340 Acoustic Guitar.

Washburn Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar - with Gig Bag, Strap and Picks Review

I knew my husband wanted a guitar for Christmas. I consulted my brother-in-law ,a musician, about what brand and almost everything because I knew nothing about guitars. All I knew that my husband wanted an acoustic electric but was completely lost. I shopped online the catalogs that my brother-in-law gave me but wasn't happy at all with what I was finding. I love Amazon and always go to Amazon when shopping for most everything online. Once I searched Amazon, I found instantly what I was shopping for and the price was half or better of what I was finding elsewhere. And knowing how great Amazon's customer service is so it was a no brainier. The guitar came in on the day the shipping status said it would it perfect condition. And my husband couldn't be happier. He LOVES this guitar. My sons love this guitar. Matter of fact, we're going to order one for my oldest sons birthday coming up. Great find, great buy and great price.Get more detail about Washburn Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar - with Gig Bag, Strap and Picks.

Taylor Guitars 114ce, Grand Auditorium, Solid Sitka Spruce Top, Sapele Back/Sides, Cutaway, ES-T Top Quality

Not sure if I would buy on online - I would want to hear it first. I bought one of these at my local music store. It has an amazing sound, if you are looking into getting a guitar at around this price (or even a little less). I highly suggest you play one of these and a bunch of others to make up your mind what feels good. The Taylor sound good and will make your playing sound better. It also has great action - making it very easy to play. Often people buy cheap guitars for beginners that are hard to keep in tune and play. This leads to the prospective player loosing interest. Don't do the cycle. Buy a Taylor and if you don't like it, or give up, you can resell it on ebay ;). This isn't solidwood and many people want to move up to solidwood (not composite) however the composite is much better at differing humidity.

The Guitar is in great condition, just as described by the seller. It comes with alternate strings, a case to carry it in, a guitar strap, a pick, and two pic guards. Awesome product for a beginner. It just arrived today and although I have to tune it (all new guitars usually have to be tuned) I know it will sound great just judging by its un-tuned sound. B.C. Rich Warlock Electric Guitar, Black Get it now!

I bought this guitar not too long ago because I loved the sleek look of it. It reminded me a lot of Vortex's guitar (from Dimmu Borgir). I read most the reviews on here before and most of them commented about how uncomfortable it was playing with this sitting down. It's really not at all that uncomfortable. It has a really grungy sound too it, absolutely perfect for rock n roll or general metal. The finish was well done on this guitar and everything on it was in perfect condition, I could not find a single thing wrong with it. I found it very easy to play and it seems excellent on beginners. Combined with a Spider Line 6 app, it's absolutely perfect. It's pretty light compared to my other guitars as well (mainly cause it's made out of basswood).

I truely recommend this guitar as it is more then what I expected from a $200 guitar.Get more detail about B.C. Rich Warlock Electric Guitar, Black.

Epiphone DR-212 Acoustic Guitar, 12-String, Natural Order Now

A good buy--my opinion. Full chorale sound of a 12, and a fairly slick action.
I had a Vox 12 back in the mid-sixties; similar to that save that the Epi seems
a trifle heavier in the body. Good balance on the lap, deep bass from a light gauge
bronze wound string. The neck a bit wider, thicker than my old ebony LP custom--
has to be for that forest of strings, which will take a lot of getting used to.
Fretwork is high for my taste but should wear in as frets always do. After almost
fifty years of guitar work--mostly rock--it's nice to just ease back and listen
again.
Tip to those breaking strings: bring them up to pitch slowly, over a couple days
if necessary, longer if need be. And when changing them, use a bit of clarinet bore oil on the fingerboard. Rub it in and then wipe it off well. I've had my
Les Paul 35 yrs, and couple others nearly as long, and use it every time I change strings.

I have a Rickenbacker 360 12-string, bought new and professionally set up. I like it very much but it is a brute to keep tuned and the neck is a bit narrow for me. I bought this Oscar Schmidt Acoustic-Electric to get a bit more acoustic size and feel. I now play the Schmidt almost all the time and love the tone and ease of use. The neck is wide enough to manage easily and the thing is easy to tune - I love it. Lowest Price Luna Fauna Phoenix Acoustic Guitar, Black

Very, Very sweet looking guitar. Looks very expensive. It has been confused for a graphite composite guitar (priced in the thousands) Most of Luna's guitars have a "girly" appearance to them, this one looks cool with anyone playing it. Out of the triad of guitars I gig with, this is by far the best looking.

But the sound is a slightly different story. I'm not really a stickler for guitar tone, but the pickup and EQ on this guitar is not very good, IMO. It is a VERY twangy sounding guitar. I have to turn up the bass all the way to get any low end out of it at all, and it still sounds kind of tinny. The tuner is nice to have, but it bounces around A LOT. If you're close to on tune, it still goes back and forth from sharp to flat, making it hard to have a tuning that is spot on. I end up using it to get close, then tuning by ear. My Ibanez electric (that I don't even play out with) sounds better plugged in, it has a nicer fishman equipped pickup, and a better tuner, and it's about 100 bucks less.

It is my #2 guitar right now, overall, I recommend it because of the attention-grabbing looks. If this were an uglier guitar, I wouldn't recommend it, most likely. Recommendation: play a guitar before you buy it. I found a 200 dollar Yamaha acoustic that I mounted a Fishman Rare Earth Pickup in, and it outperforms this one, pound for pound. You're paying the mid-level guitar price for the finish.

Overall 7.9-8/10

Pros:

-Looks Awesome
-XLR and 1/4" outputs
-Good tuners
-Low action
-Thin neck

Cons:

-Quiet unplugged (price you pay for the thin body, expected)
-Twangy sound, but still workable
-Tuner is not very good

Low Price Rogue RG-624 Left-Handed Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar, Natural

If you're looking for your first guitar, it'll do.

I thought mine had a scratch on the pick guard when it came. I eventually realized there was a protective film (clear plastic like on a new watch) that came covering the guard, and the scratch was only on that.

It's cheap and the action is a little high for a newbie (the strings are higher off the fret board which makes learning the guitar even more painful). I couldn't get the 2nd string to sound right. I thought it was because I'm suck at guitar, but I bought new strings anyway and put them on myself and now it sounds great. I think I might have damaged the strings when I was opening the package.

Overall I'm happy and would recommend this to anyone who just wants to test the waters and see if the whole "guitar thing" sticks.

Oh yeah, left handed ... blah blah blahGet more detail about Rogue RG-624 Left-Handed Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar, Natural.

My guitar arrived this morning, that was fast service. I took it out out of its packaging and it was in perfect condition. The wood and finish is great and the maple binding on the body and along the fret board really set it off. This is one good looking guitar. I tune it up and played it for a couple of hours the sound is great. Somebody will have to spend much more money to get a better sounding guitar that looks this good. I ware a jumbo work glove so the wide neck is just what I need. With this guitar I will be able to play a large verity of music both finger style and flat picking. Discount Espana Classical Guitar w/Hardshell Case

This is the first time I ordered a guitar online and I am really very happy. I was lucky to buy this item for 165 USD. Just after I ordered, I noticed that the price was increased to 200 USD. This is my 3rd classic guitar. I was very actively playing when I was an undergrad student. After 10 years of a long interwal I just wanted to own a classical guitar again and did not want to spent a fortune on it. I was very concerned about the quality of the guitar and really curious what would come out of the case. When I received the guitar from UPS I noticed that on the label of the guitar with very small letters it was written MADE IN CHINA!. At first I felt bad about it. However, today is the third day of the arrival of the guitar and I am really very happy that I ordered it. It really sounds great. The tone and volume of the guitar is wonderful. There is no technical problems with it and it also looks really beautiful. You can not only play classic but also flamenco with this guitar. The hard case is very strong and not very heavy. I think for USD 165 (even for USD 200) this is a great deal!!! Thank you Chinesee friends! You did a gerat job! Gracias!Get more detail about Espana Classical Guitar w/Hardshell Case.

Cheapest NEW RESONATOR - Acoustic Guitar - Steel Pan - BLUES +++

So I just got this guitar in the mail today. I've been messing around on the guitar for about 15 years now and only recently became obsessed with delta blues and slide guitar. I've been looking for an inexpensive guitar to pick up and mess around with more and saw this one on line. As far as I can tell this is a unbranded version of the Johnson acoustic resonator that sells for $195. The nice feature about the one I purchased is that it came with a piezo pick up and equalizer for plugging in. The Johnson version has a maple soundwell and likely a better cone and spider. When mine arrived it had a cover plate that was banging around inside the well. Not a big deal since I knew I would be taking the thing apart as soon as I got it anyway. Overall the guitar looks very nice. Nice round neck, solid, straight neck, good action, easy to fret. The finish looked cheesey on the pictures but in person it is beautiful. The big hang-up is the cone which is a stamped version that is too thick and not properly set up. It has a nice tone in the upper ranges but lacks any power in the bass chords. I have a mechanical background and plan to grind it down to make loosen it up and plan to manipulate the spider a little to get the best tone out of this as I can. Certainly a little work and not something that a proferssional would want to mess with but my guess is that I can make this thing rival a Gold tone at 1/8 the price. The only question is how well it will hold up. But at $105 dollars (bought online at a wholesale store) I'm willing to take the chance. Happy playing.Get more detail about NEW RESONATOR - Acoustic Guitar - Steel Pan - BLUES +++.

Cheap Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom, Silverburst

I bought this guitar, first and foremost, because I am a huge Tool fan and I love the look of of Adam's Gibson Silverburst. Secondly, I love the look, feel and sound of the Les Paul Studio (although technically this is a Les Paul Custom, but its still a Studio design). Also I very much prefer the tone switch to be in the location it is on LP studios.

That being said, You should know that this guitar is among the higher end Epiphone LPs. I also own another Epi LP Studio, a cheaper model, which I can tell you has much less attention to detail. It's still a good guitar because it has it has great tone at a low cost, but the look of it isnt that sharp. The finish on those guitars isnt as nice as what you get here with the Silverburst. You may have heard horror stories about the frets popping out on those low cost Epi LPs but that has never happened on mine.

But Back to the Silverburst... The look of this guitar is stunning. The paint job and finish is excellent, really slick from bottom to top, front to back. The chrome hardware looks great too and seems to be really good quality... not just a cheap chrome finish on some mystery metal or something. The inlay on the fretboard and headstock are great too, very shimmery and marbley (if those are words).

In terms of hardware; The pickups sound great. Lots of tonal color and good harmonic response. I have noticed I have to crank my amp up a bit to get good feedback, but thats sort of the nature of feedback. The tone switch is well built, as in it stays put and doesnt wobble about. I've seen tone switches that basically unscrew during use to the point where they are at a 30-45 degree angle from their orignial position. This doesnt happen on this guitar. The switch itself does pop a tiny bit when switching between pickups... I dont mind it that much, but its worth saying. The frets are more rounded and stick out from the finger board more than a Gibson would. This can become an issue if you really push hard on the string because you can push the note from in-tune to sharp without really "bending" the string. This isnt an issue unique to this guitar, from what i've seen this is fairly common-place with all Epiphones. It doesnt really become a problem unless you are strangling the neck. The action out of the box is set a bit high; To the point where as you move up on the neck the notes tend to go sharp, which basically destroys any chords you play past the 12th fret. All i had to do was lower the action to resolve this problem. Even with that, i notice no fret buzzing anywhere on the guitar. The tuners work great... they ARE Grover tuners. I have no complaints with there. My biggest complaint with this guitar is the Nut (this was an issue with my other LP Studio too and is a common issue with lots of guitars that havent been customized). It grabs and can make tuning a real pain. This issue has improved somewhat since I bought the guitar, probably because with play and repeated tunings the strings have likely filed the nut a little bit. There are many solutions to this problem however; file the nut down yourself, buy some graphite and rub it in the nut under the strings, or you can actually use the graphite "lead" from pencils, or you can actually replace the nut with a graphite nut. Graphite essentially acts as a lubricant which stops the strings from binding... it has to do with the atomic structure of graphite, it doesnt take lateral tension very well. Idealy, apart from replacing the nut, a combination of these solutions is best.

Now the big question, Tone; I will keep this short and sweet. I like a wide variety of tone in the music I play. Depending on your amp and effects setup you can greatly effect the tone coming from the guitar. This guitar is heavy and has a really thick rich tone. Most LP's do. If you are after that Gibson sound, you've got it here. I've sized this guitar up with Gibson LPs and its up to par for sure. I've played this guitar and a Gibson LP back to back on the same amp with the same effects and settings and I saw no real noticiable change in tone. Tool songs sound perfect on this guitar, as do cleaner, bluesier tones. Lighter tones are certainly attainable on this guitar as well... but just about any tone is possible these days with all the electronic weaponry out there. Another thing I would like to mention is that this guitar has no buzz AT ALL. It's really well built in that respect, everything is grounded. You can play loud and when you stop the strings, its quiet(provided you havent cranked the amp so high you get feedback from nothing). Getting back to that Epi vs Gibson tone arguement though; It's worth saying that my dad owns 3 Gibsons (2 Electric - a LP Recording and a Firebird, and 1 acoustic) and he recently bought an Epiphone Flying V and right now, THAT guitar is his pride and joy.

All in all, If you are looking for a quality Gibson sound at an affordable price, Epiphone is the way to go. More specifically, If you are after an Epi LP; while I have no complaints with tone and no significant complaints in construction of the cheaper Epi LPs... I would definitely recommend going with one from their Les Paul Custom line (which is what the Silverburst falls under). They are about double the cost, but the attention to detail is palpable. If you can put down a few hundred extra, go for it. Get a guitar like this. And narrowing the scope even further, if you are like me and you love Tool, really like LPs, love that silverburst paintjob and are on a limited budget... then look no further, you found your guitar. The only thing I would recommend is to try to buy it below $[...]. I've seen them range from $[...], so do some looking around.Get more detail about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom, Silverburst.

Buying Applause AE128 Super Shallow Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Ruby Red

This is my first guitar and I have never played before. I'm a medium size female. I find this very easy to hold compared to the full size acoustics I have tried in the past. It is very very easy to play, meaning the strings are very responsive and the unit is lite. As far as sound goes....I like it. The tones are well balanced with nice depth and distinctness. (I played the violin in the past so I have some musical savvy.) I saw one review that states it has a rounded plastic back. That is true and makes it very comfortable. I don't find this to compromise the quality of the sound in any way. Additionally, I have only played it acoustically and probably always will. My only complaint is on the back it says "Made in China".....I'm gonna keep it anyway.

Buy Epiphone G-310 SG Collection Electric Guitar, Ebony

I played this guitar for about a year. It's a beautiful guitar with a nice glossy finish. It's also nice to be able to control the volume of the pickups separately for cool effects, something most electrics can't do. In terms of playability the frets might be a bit large for total beginners but nevertheless it plays fantastic and sounds great. Well worth your money.Get more detail about Epiphone G-310 SG Collection Electric Guitar, Ebony.

Purchase Fender Squier Hello Kitty Strat Guitar, Pink

+1 more for having an awesome name.

His review convinced me to buy this for my gf as her first guitar. It cost $100 more than the First Act and SX guitars I was also shopping, but I was sold when I read his glowing review. Plus she's obsessed with Hello Kitty. :-\

I'm not an aficionado and I wouldn't know a great guitar from a good one, but I'd say this is pretty darn good. It's easy to play, stays in tune, makes noises when it should, and doesn't buzz when it shouldn't.

That's an A+ in my book.Get more detail about Fender Squier Hello Kitty Strat Guitar, Pink.

Order Fender Standard Stratocaster with Gigbag and Maple Neck- Brown Sunburst

I've owned a lot of guitars through the past 25 years, including a couple of American Standard Fender Strats, a couple of Japanese-made Fender Strats, and even a strat-style Ibanez guitar (which I still own). Despite the expense of the American Standards, the never seemed to sound as good or play as easily as the hype would suggest. The Japanese ones sounded good---especially the 50s and 60s replicas---but the small frets made it hard to keep chords fretted across all six strings and could sometimes make soloing a tad more haphazzard. Despite not having had a Fender in my collection for the past ten years, I got the itch to get another while deployed in Afghanistan. The 499 cost seemed good-- way less the the American standard and a price point that wouldn't make my wife strangle me in anger on my return home. I unpacked this as soon as I got home and let me tell you that it simply the best playing and sounding guitar I have ever owned bar none---better even than the Les Paul Ive owned for 20 years and my very nice Ibanez that I've owned for 15 years. The neck and string action are as truely perfect as I have ever played. The pickups seem incredibly nuanced--but will get a slight electrical noise from lighting or TVs if in the single coil positions. Quality of construction, paint, and overall appearance are every bit as good as the American Standards. I really can't put my finger on what specifically makes this guitar so good---awesome construction, medium jumbo frets, that "strat tone" done right???---but take my word for it. This guitar is incredible. After 30 years of playing I am a good enough guitarist to know quality and playability from glam crap. Don't spend 1000+ bucks when you don't have to!!! This guitar will stay with me for the rest of my life (or until it isn't cool for an old fart to be playing Iron Maiden, Mettalica, Dire Straits, and Hendrix songs anymore. )Get more detail about Fender Standard Stratocaster with Gigbag and Maple Neck- Brown Sunburst.

This is my first guitar. I just wanted to pick up a new skill... good for the noggin. The kit arrived when it was supposed to and I have been very happy with it. Seagull Coastline S12 Cedar QI Guitar Top Quality

I have had this guitar for a whole seven hours and I'm already in love. I'm also in love with Amazon Prime. I ordered this yesterday at 11:43am and received it today at 11:10am. The $7 charge for Saturday delivery was well worth it. The guitar came set up nicely with low action out of the box. A few minutes of tuning and it's playing like a dream. Great tone played acoustically, plug it in and it's even better. I'm no expert so take this review as you will but I think this is an exceptional value for a North American handcrafted instrument.Get more detail about Seagull Coastline S12 Cedar QI Guitar.

Silvertone SSL3 Electric Guitar Pack, Cherry Sunburst This instant

This review covers the Silvertone SSL3 Cherry Sunburst Guitar Pack including SMART III Amplifier.
The guitar is gorgeous, beautiful. First thing I did was to remove the stickers on the back. Not objectionable, but looked nicer without them to me. Took WD-40 to remove traces of adhesive. A knowledgeable instructor pointed out that the flame top is a photographic overlay, but if not for his expert observation, I'm not sure one could notice. Still looks beautiful to me. Checking the Gibson Internet site, seems to me even their very costly models use a veneer for the Cherry Sunburst as the 360 view shows a mahogany back, very similar to the Silvertone in appearance.
I watched a movie about the life of Les Paul called Chasing Sound and he made a guitar from a piece of 4 x 4 lumber with guitar looking wings on the sides.
Ordinary people tend to gasp when first seeing this guitar, it really is lovely.
I took it to a guitar repair shop for set up, and no adjustments were required.
After bending notes the tuning seemed to slip, so I used the locking string method at the tuning posts and wrapped the strings over the bridge with a new set of Elixir .009, and seems to be fine now. I also purchased nut lubricant for a few dollars, and added very small amounts to nut grooves and bridge contact points. Previously there had been some clicking at the nut when bending the G string, and this now vanished.
Initially the tone control for the neck pickup was intermittent. I removed the back plate to check for quality of solder joints. One lug seemed light on solder, so I re soldered it. No change. The guitar tech tightened the mounting nut, checked all the wiring. Looked good to him. No charge, and after that it has worked just fine.
The vinyl gig bag works just fine for carrying the guitar but offers no real protection or storage. Purchased Musician's Gear gig bag, and very pleased with the upgrade. Lots of storage. Well made. I hang it on the wall and space requirement is minimal.
I found the amplifier to be fairly good for "clean" amplification but pushing the Overdrive button immediately muddied the sound such that it was very difficult to hear notes on the strings even with the Drive control at minimum setting. I don't know if I just got a bad unit or they are all like this. I purchased a cable at Radio Shack and plugged the guitar into my stereo receiver accessory input. This worked well for clean only playing, but not too much different from playing an acoustic guitar with lighter gauge strings.
Acquired a reasonably inexpensive small modeling amplifier, the Roland Micro Cube and the transformation is extraordinary. Really brings the instrument to life.
The guitar strap seems fine to me. Adjusts easily and stays in adjustment, is firmly attached at the ends.
Overall I am extremely pleased with this guitar. Purchased as an experiment to see if I would like an electric after forty years of occasionally playing my Fender acoustic. With the new strings properly attached, and the new amplifier, it is a joy to play.
I replaced the guitar cable with a Monster cable with gold plated ends and this also may have improved the sound.
I read a book from the library about guitar maintenance and set up by Dave Burrluck and found it enjoyable and informative. I did adjust the bridge height, but after trying to measure the last 64th of an inch, just turned the adjustment to where I liked it. It also showed how to lock the strings at the posts. This information is also available online, but the book has clear instructions and color photoghraphs. The key is to keep tension on the string when first establishing the lock. First time I tried it did not work, so I bought a second set of strings and was more careful, then it was fairly easy.
I should mention the tone and overall sound of this guitar is very good. With the various modes on the Roland Micro Cube it really sounds extraordinary. This is a small portable amplifier, but models sound using a "composite object sound modeling" "virtually" reconstructing the audio configuration of a group of classic amplifier sounds. Roland says their amplifier modeling uses virtual components that reflect each aspect of the original amplifiers, so when volume or gain are increased, the effect is like the original. Works for me and replicates the sound of some very expensive gear.
There seems to be a condition with many guitarists where they constantly seek new, more expensive equipment, but I am perfectly satisfied with this set up. (Hope this lasts, but I am pleased.) If I ever needed to perform on a stage (not likely) I could upgrade to a more powerful amp model in the same line, or place a microphone in front of the speaker. The guitar seems perfect, that is the tuning machines work well and can be tightened with Philips screw adjustment on the chrome knobs, rosewood finger board is good, chrome finish on the hardware is very good, wood finish is very good, pickups, tone and volume controls work well. My last guitar (acoustic) was purchased used, so I'm really enjoying brand new fret wires. Ends are smooth, properly cut and beveled.
The packaging was lacking during shipment so there was very little protection. In working on the solder joint under bright light, there are some small cracks in the finish near the neck, but the guitar tech confirmed they are only cosmetic in the surface. Apart from looking very carefully that one time, I've never even noticed them again. This rough handling during shipment and lack of adequate cushioning in the packing probably knocked the tone controls loose as well. The pickup selector switch was also loose, but that could be tightened with firm finger pressure on a knurled ring.Get more detail about Silvertone SSL3 Electric Guitar Pack, Cherry Sunburst.

Washburn D10S Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (Natural) Get it now!

I remember back when I was a kid (in the early 80s) my mother, my brother and I went to a local music store and bought my father a Yamaha FG acoustic guitar. The tone that instrument produced was almost magical.

Fast forward almost 30 years. I got back into playing guitar last year after a 20-year hiatus. My first guitar was an epiphone Les Paul Studio, but I knew that I wanted an acoustic. After demoing dozens of guitars, I landed on this model, the D10S by Washburn. I got lucky, and picked mine up for $149 as a factory restock. The tone equals that old Yamaha, which is now owned by my brother. When I brought this guitar to his house to A/B them, his face was stunned at how good it sounded for such an inexpensive instrument.

If you're in the market for an entry-level acoustic guitar, don't let this one fly under your radar. Give it a listen, and I promise it won't disappoint.Get more detail about Washburn D10S Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (Natural).

Kansas K-EMST5-3T Mini Electric Guitar, 3-Tone Buy Now

Was very disappointed in the product. Now let me say first that I was not expecting the world. First, I took the screw out to put on a strap and the screw would not go back. I had to go to the store to buy bigger screws and use wood glue. Also, one of the guitars was used and shipped to me as new. Last , one of the guitars will not tune to save your life and one will tune halfway. The only reason I did not return the items were for the fact that it was my sons birthday and being only five he does not know the difference. All he knows is that now he gets to rock out with dad. I will say that the guitar looks good. Again, I was not expecting much for [...] bucks, but come on.Get more detail about Kansas K-EMST5-3T Mini Electric Guitar, 3-Tone.

Seagull Coastline S6 Burst GT Guitar Order Now

I got this guitar as my beginner instrument to start getting into acoustic guitars and I think it turned out to be a really great choice. I was going to get a Seagull Original S6, but then I found one of these for basically the same price.

Just to get it out of the way, wow this guitar looks fantastic! But how does it sound you say? Well, since I'm just starting out, I don't have a developed ear, but from what I can tell it's very warm, bright and layered. I noticed it sounds a tad muffled when I finger pick, but that just may be how it usually is since I'm new to guitar. Also, the guitar had a few oddities sound-wise when I first started playing, but now those have gone away. It was probably just the change in temperature and humidity since it was cold outside when they delivered it.

The action seems really perfect; the strings are low enough to the frets to play, but they don't buzz. The solid top gives the guitar a fantastic ring and I was surprised how long I could hear a note after strumming. It's got a glossy finish which looks pretty, but is prone to getting fingerprints if you care about that kind of thing. I've read that this kind of finish will show scratch marks more easily than a semi-gloss or flat finish so be aware.

Anyway, I'm 100% satisfied with this guitar and would definitely recommend this to others looking for a good band-for-the-buck guitar.Get more detail about Seagull Coastline S6 Burst GT Guitar.

Lowest Price Epiphone LP Special II Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Heritage Cherryburst

Went to local place to check out hands-on. I was not impressed at all. The thing just felt cheap. I could not imagine playing it for long. It was not fun to hold and parts looked cheesy. Other than body shape, it was nearly identical to the Epiphone SG-Special Electric Guitar sold at the same price.

I am surprised the Les Paul name was allowed to be used on this.
